Whidbey Everyday Zen Community is a contemplative practice group following the tradition of Everyday Zen Foundation teacher, Norman Fischer, who visits the Pacific Northwest about seven times per year (see Everydayzen.org). WEDZ explores the concept of Dharma Without Walls. The main project of WEDZ is the creation of a Garden of Forgiveness, a place where people may come and contemplate forgiveness and healing, assisted by outdoor meditation areas and inspirational materials. People of all faiths, creeds and orientations are welcome to come and meditate in any way that is suitable to them. Please contact us for more information about how the Garden of Forgiveness is progressing, and let us know if you would like to help. Additionally, we have a new Facebook page called Meditation Smart Mob, where members may call for meditation events anywhere, anytime, with any focus or intention.
The site administrator and group coordinator is Dai-i Laurel Vogel, a precepted student of Norman Fischer who wishes to practice with others in community.
Also, please consider posting to our community blog, a blog where meditation practitioners write about their insights and practice. Contact whibeyzen@gmail.com if you have something you would like to post. And be sure to visit and become a fan of our FACEBOOK page.
